Qualifications for Trainers who want to be qualified to deliver training in any sector (not just in house). We offer a full range of qualifications giving trainers the confidence, skills and qualifications to deliver Training, Conflict Management and Physical skills, Accredited by National Awarding organisations and Chartered Institutes.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training

The qualification is the minimum standard for all those teaching in the learning and development sector. It introduces the knowledge and skill required by teachers to develop and deliver programmes, provide learners with support and be able to take responsibility in managing the learning process with adults. In response to recommendations made by a government commissioned independent review panel, teaching qualifications have been simplified and renamed.

This qualification replaces the Level 3 Award in PTLLS.

Objectives

By the end of this course delegates should be able to:

  • Understand the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training.
  • Understand ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Understand the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training.
  • Understand inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training.
  • Understand ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment.
  • Be able to plan inclusive teaching and learning.
  • Be able to deliver inclusive teaching and learning.
  • Be able to evaluate the delivery of inclusive teaching and learning.
  • Understand types and methods of assessment used in education and training.
  • Understand how to involve learners and others in the assessment process.
  • Understand the role and use of constructive feedback in the assessment process.
  • Understand requirements for keeping records of assessment in education and training

Course Duration

The course is normally 5 days in duration (can be extended to 6 for large groups), but can be delivered as blended learning for 2 days and 3 days face to face.

Assessment Method & Certification

The assessment will be by the successful completion of two short MCQ exams and one written assignment, plus the planning, delivery and observation of a short presentation towards the end of the course. On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a qualification certificate from a Nationally Accredited Awarding Organisation.

Level 3 Delivering Conflict Prevention & Management Training

This qualification is suitable for all those who aim to deliver training for the security Industry. It would also benefit those who wish to deliver Conflict Management training in any other sector.

Aims

To equip trainers with the skills required for delivering training to others in the prevention and management of conflict and other challenging behaviours.

Objectives

By the end of this course delegates should be able to:

  • Describe the purpose and rational of the ICM
  • Describe the National Occupational Standards for PMWRV (Prevention and Management of Work Related Violence)
  • Health & Safety Regulations and definition of violence
  • Other relevant guidance and legislation
  • Describe the process for Training Needs Analysis
  • Facilitate a discussion group on the causes and triggers of changes in behaviour/mood
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of how to manage challenging behaviour and how to de-escalate/calm situation
  • Demonstrate techniques for promoting positive behaviours
  • Explain how to communicate effectively and barriers to communication
  • Describe the post incident procedures for supporting staff and service users

Course Duration

The course is 4-5 days in duration (60 GLH + exam) or 2-3 days with blended learning (this course can also be combined with an EAT (Education and Training) course.

Assessment Method & Certification

The assessment will be by observation of the practical elements throughout the course and the completion of a multiple choice question examination at the end of the course. On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of competence, through our ICM (Institute of Conflict Management) registered Quality Awards Centre.

It is a pre-requisite that delegates attending this course already hold a teaching qualification of at least Level 3 EAT (Education and Training) or PTLLS (unless combined with one).

Level 3 Delivering Physical Skills Training

This qualification is suitable for all those engaged in the provision of providing training to others in the physical management of challenging and violent behaviours, for the Security Industry training as well as in any other sector.

Aims

To equip trainers with the knowledge and skills required for delivering of Physical Skills training.

Objectives

By the end of this course delegates should be able to:

  • Describe how Occupational Health & Safety legislation relates to physical skills tuition
  • Define physical skills and physical intervention
  • Explain how physical skills are taught as part of an overall strategy for preventing and
  • managing challenging and violent behaviour
  • Describe the ICM-NMS for ‘Physical Skills Tuition’
  •  Describe how the Law and other relevant pieces of legislation relate to the use of force
  • Explain how physical skills should be risk assessed
  • Create a safe training environment
  • Coach and develop skill competency within individuals and groups
  • Assess skill competency/ability of individuals and groups
  • Explain the importance of appropriate monitoring strategies
